The Y6 class of biology had been doing a lot of experiments lately. This unit, they are learning about digestion and nutrition. To learn that, they had dug deep into the roots of what keeps us alive, food. The students completed various experiments to detect elements such as carbohydrate, protein, starch and fat. Foods was put in test tubes, adding chemical solutions in it, Y6 observed it's changes. Some occurred differently like the test for fat involved Iodine and filter paper, which turned translucent when it sensed fat. There was also another interesting test in which students burned food and heated water to count calories.
六年级生物课的这个单元他们的主题是消化与营养，于是他们用是我们生存的最基本的东西，食物，来做了许多实验。学生们做了各种各样的实验来发掘碳水化合物，蛋白质，淀粉与脂肪。如把食物放进试管并且加上化学溶液，随后观察反应。测脂肪的过程有点不同，用上了碘与滤纸，滤纸若碰到了脂肪便会变半透明。还有另一个有趣的实验，学生们燃烧了食物，并用此热量加热水，来数卡路里。
